Innovation Proposal

Dear Dr. Felsen

 

With the recent implementation of eLearning at Epoka University, there are many opportunities to implement a variety of e-learning tools for our students. My focus is particularly on helping business students to build an ePortfolio.

 

An ePortfolio is an online catalog in which the works carried out by the business student during different academic stages are shown and described. For buisness students, an ePortfolio would offer a variety of benefits, including documenting their process of learning, making connections with previous experiences and different courses, and reflecting of the meaning of their work. An ePortfolio makes visible all aspects of the learning process.

 

Students will build an e-portfolio with a variety of different tools where they can showcase their learning, their accomplishments, and their experiences as business students at Epoka University. They will have a choice in the design and content. They will post digital copies of assignments and projects through photographs, video clips, and other media to give evidence of their learning experience.

 

Through an ePortfolio, students can showcase their work from when they started the architecture program until the time they are ready to look for work.  It will be a narrative of their journey to become professionals, documenting how each project relates in a way that makes sense to the student. It also creates responsibility for their learning and growth.

 

I am asking for the support of the buisness department to be open to this opportunity during the school year 2022-2023 as a pilot program, and eventually implementing the ePortfolio in the buisness curriculum.
